Behind the Art Print Button Downs
Ever since I was in high school i have been buying all my clothes from thrift stores like Goodwill. I always found it more exciting to find unique pieces that i knew there was only one of and that didn’t have to be brand new. I’m a very nostalgic person so owning something with a story is meaningful to me.
I always loved shopping but not even knowing what it is i would find or what i was actually shopping for, i would just know what i wanted when it would find me.
I have had off and on odd jobs, having to wear white or black button downs to look professional in the workplace, and there’s something invigorating about taking something that is meant to keep us looking clean, neat, uniform, and professional and throwing all of that out the window to be our own unique person.
I had a few thrifted button downs i was going to donate because i had no use for them. But one day i went into my bin of fabrics and chose to cut patches out of the button downs and replace those empty spaces with my art printed fabrics to make a completely new idea of our traditional button downs. I started to really enjoy experimenting with where i’d choose to add my fabrics to the tops, even adding drawings to some of the empty white or black spaces.
They now sell out everytime i make new button downs weekly.
